Our target and what we did

Our target
This site targets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium.
What we built in
- Keyboard navigation: every link, menu, form and calculator works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a link to skip straight to the main content.
- Contrast: text and controls use dark ink on a light paper background, with colors chosen to meet AA contrast.
- Alt text: every illustration has a one-sentence text description.
- Reduced motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, the site turns off its animations and transitions.
- Form labels: every form field and calculator input has a visible label, and units and hints are tied to their fields for screen readers.
- Live results: calculator results are announced to screen readers as they update.
- Structure: one main heading per page, headings in order, and plain section landmarks.

Illustrations
The illustrations are decorative. Each one is described in a short text alternative, so nothing on a page depends on seeing it.
Documents from engagements
Reports, abstracts and memos from engagements are usually delivered as PDFs. Ask, and we will send them in an accessible format, such as a tagged PDF, a Word file or plain text.
Other websites
Some pages link to county and federal websites. We do not control how accessible those sites are.
